紛 (fun, confusion) + らわしい (-ish, looks like): things that look like something else, so they confuse you.

The root 紛 means mixed up or tangled, as in 紛争 (dispute). Adding らわしい, a suffix for 'having the look of', gives 'tangled up and easy to mistake'.
