実家 — home

🏡 実 (real) + 家 (house) = the real house you came from, where your parents live

実 means true or real, and 家 means house. 実家 is the house you grew up in, the one your parents still keep, even if you live somewhere else now.

家 — roof 宀 + pig 豕
Originally a pictograph of a pig under a roof, since domesticated pigs were kept in or under the home in ancient China. Over time the meaning broadened from 'household' to 'family,' and by extension 'home' or a specialist (as in 专家, 'expert').
