vez
/ˈbeθ/ · A1 · noun · f
time
From Latin vicis (turn, change), the same root as vice versa
Latin vicis meant a turn or alternation; it gives English vice versa (the turn reversed) and vicissitude. Spanish kept the turn sense: una vez = one time, otra vez = another turn, es mi vez = it is my turn in the queue.
