traer
/tɾaˈeɾ/ · A1 · verb
to bring
🚜 Latin trahere, to pull: a tractor drags things over to you
Traer comes from Latin trahere (to drag, pull), the root of tractor, traction and attract. All of them pull toward a point, and traer brings toward the speaker. Llevar goes the other way: it carries away.
