química
/ˈkimika/ · B1 · noun · f
chemistry
🧪 Alchemy without its al-: alquimia became química, chemistry
Both come from Arabic al-kīmiyā. Spanish kept al- in alquimia (alchemy) but dropped it for the science. Say it KEE-mee-ka, stressed on the first syllable. Like English, it also means the spark between two people.
