ocultar

/okulˈtaɾ/ · A2 · verb

to hide, to conceal

🙈 ocultar = occult: Latin occultare, to keep hidden; the occult is hidden knowledge

English occult comes from the same Latin root, occultus, meaning hidden or secret. So ocultar is simply to make something occult: to hide or conceal it. Astronomers still say one body occults another when it blocks it from view.
