inmunidad

/immuniˈdad/ · B1 · noun · f

unsusceptibility

💉🛡️ inmunidad = immunity: in- (not) + munus (duty), freed from a burden

From Latin immunitas: in- (not) + munus (duty, tax). It first meant exemption from public duties, later protection from disease. Spanish keeps the -dad ending where English has -ty, as in ciudad/city.
