feria
/ˈfeɾja/ · B1 · noun · f
carnival
🎡 Sounds like Ferris wheel, the ride you find at every feria (fair)
Feria comes from Latin feriae, holidays, which is also the root of English fair via Old French feire. In Mexico, feria is also slang for money, especially small change: no traigo feria means I have no cash on me.
