excitar

/eɡsθiˈtaɾ/ · B1 · verb

to excite (sexually)

🔥 Same root as excite: Latin ex- (out) + citare (to set moving)

Careful, this is a false friend. In Spanish, excitar and estoy excitado usually sound sexual. To say you are excited about a trip or a film, use emocionar instead: estoy emocionado.
