etiqueta
/etiˈketa/ · B1 · noun · f
label
🏷️ Same word as English etiquette: both come from French étiquette, a ticket
French étiquette meant a label or ticket. At the Spanish and French courts, the rules of behaviour were written on these tickets, which gave English its etiquette. Spanish kept both senses: label and good manners.
