cazador

/kaθaˈdoɾ/ · B1 · adj

hunter

🏹🦌 Cazar = to hunt + -dor (one who does it): cazador = the one who hunts

From Latin captiare, to chase or catch, which also gave English chase and catch. The -dor ending marks the doer, as in jugador (player) and trabajador (worker). As a military term it named light troops, like the French chasseur.
