🏠🍽️ From Amphitryon, the mythic king whose dinner made his name mean host
In Molière's play Amphitryon, Zeus disguises himself as King Amphitryon. A famous line says the real Amphitryon is the one who serves the dinner, so the name came to mean host. Spanish shortened it to anfitrión.
