allá

/aˈʝa/ · A1 · adv

there, over there, thither, yonder

allá = a + illāc: Latin for to that place, way over yonder

From Latin illāc (that way, by that route) with a- in front. It is the far, vague sibling of allí: allí points at a spot, allá waves toward a whole region or a distant time, as in allá por 1990. Allá tú means that is your problem.
