aguas
/ˈaɡwas/ · B1 · intj
be careful!
💧 Literally waters: from agua va!, shouted before dumping water from windows
In colonial Mexico, people shouted ¡agua va! (water coming!) before throwing dirty water into the street. The warning shrank to ¡aguas!, and Mexicans now use it for any danger, such as a car coming or a wet floor.
