árabe
/ˈaɾabe/ · B1 · adj
Arabic
Arab + e, stressed on the first A: ÁR-a-be
Same root as English Arab, from Latin Arabus. The accent on á tells you the stress goes at the start, unlike English Arabic. Spanish took thousands of words from árabe, such as azúcar (sugar) and almohada (pillow).
