🗑️ 휴지 (waste paper) + 통 (bin) = bin for waste paper
Hanja 休紙桶: 休 rest + 紙 paper + 桶 bucket. 휴지 is paper that is resting, i.e. no longer in use, which also gives the word for tissue. 통 is the same container suffix found in 쓰레기통 and 물통.
