🔥 화 = Sino-Korean 火 (fire); anger is fire in the body, so one word covers both
From Chinese 火, fire. Korean medicine treated anger as heat rising inside you, so 화 came to mean both. 화나다 = fire comes out = to get angry. Same root in 화요일 (Tuesday, fire day) and 화산 (volcano, fire mountain).
