🎒 準備 = 準 (measure up to standard) + 備 (equip) + 하다 (to do)
준비 is the Sino-Korean word 準備, the same compound as Chinese zhǔnbèi and Japanese junbi. 準 means a standard or level, 備 means to equip or have ready. Adding 하다 (to do) turns the noun into a verb: to do the getting-ready.
