입다

ipda · TOPIK 1

to wear, to put on (clothing)

👕 ip-da sounds like zip-da: zip up what you wear

입다 (ipda) is the verb for putting on clothes that cover the body, like shirts, trousers and coats. Drop the z from zip and you have ip: zipping up a jacket is exactly the action. Shoes and hats take other verbs (신다, 쓰다).
