음 (音) means sound, as in 발음 (pronunciation) and 소음 (noise). 악 (樂) means music, as in 악기 (instrument); the same hanja read 락 means joy, as in 오락 (amusement). Chinese 音乐 yīnyuè and Japanese 音楽 ongaku are the same word.
