🏃 運動 = move (運) + motion (動), plus 하다 to do: do movement
운동 comes from hanja 運動, the same word as Chinese yùndòng and Japanese undō. 운 (運) means to carry or move, 동 (動) means motion. Add 하다 (to do) and a noun becomes a verb: to do movement, so to exercise.
