🏃 運動 = move (運) + move (動): doubly in motion
Both hanja mean motion: 運 (운) is to carry or move along, as in 운전 driving; 動 (동) is to move, as in 동물 animal, a moving thing. Movement stacked on movement gives exercise. Same word as Chinese 运动 yùndòng and Japanese 運動 undō.
