📅 요일 = 曜 (yo, shining body) + 日 (il, day): the day named for a sky light
Each weekday is a sky-body name plus 요일: 월요일 is moon-day, 화요일 fire-day (Mars), 일요일 sun-day. English does the same: Sunday, Monday, Saturn-day. The 일 here is the same 日 found in 생일 (birthday) and 매일 (every day).
