🌍✈️ 외국 = 외 (外 outside) + 국 (國 country): an outside country
외 means outside, as in 외출 (going out) and 외국인 (foreigner). 국 means country, as in 한국 (Korea), 미국 (USA) and 중국 (China). Put them together and you get a country outside your own.
