to have a meal
🍚🥢 식사 = 食 eat + 事 matter; add 하다 (do) = do the eating business
식 is the hanja 食 (food, eat), as in 음식 (food) and 식당 (restaurant). 사 is 事 (matter, affair), as in 사건 (incident). 하다 turns the noun into a verb: to do a meal. It is the polite, formal way to say eat.
