👪 부모님 = 父 father + 母 mother + 님 honorific suffix
부모 comes from hanja 父母: 부 (father) + 모 (mother). 님 is the respect suffix also found in 선생님 (teacher). Drop 님 and you get plain 부모; keep it when talking about or to your own or someone else's parents politely.
