벗다

beotda · TOPIK 1

to take off (clothing)

👕 beot sounds like but: shirt on, BUT then it comes off

벗다 (beotda) is the opposite of 입다 (to put on). The stem 벗 sounds close to English but, the word that reverses what came before: dressed, but now undressed. Used for clothes, shoes, hats and glasses alike.
