🚪 mun = hanja 門, two swinging door leaves; same root as Chinese mén
문 comes from the hanja 門, the character for gate, built from two door panels side by side. Chinese mén and Japanese mon share this root. It shows up in compounds: 창문 (window) = window + door, 정문 = main gate.
