못하다 = 못 (cannot) + 하다 (to do)
못 is the adverb for inability and 하다 is the verb to do. Written as one word, 못하다 means to be bad at something or unable to do it; with a space, 못 하다 means one cannot do it on this occasion. The ㅅ is pronounced t before ㅎ: mo-ta-da.
