🤝 도와주다 = 돕다 (help) + 주다 (give): to give help
A compound of 돕다 (to help) and 주다 (to give). The ㅂ in 돕 softens to 와 before the -아 ending, giving 도와, then 주다 adds the sense of doing it for someone. Literally: help-give. The same -아/어 주다 pattern marks any favour done for another person.
