💵 English loanword: dal-leo is just dollar said the Korean way
달러 is borrowed straight from English dollar. Korean has no separate r/l, so ㄹ+ㄹ across 달-러 comes out as a clear double L: dal-leo. Say dollar with a long L and an open uh at the end and you already have it.
