gimbap (Korean rice roll)
🍙 김밥 = gim (seaweed) + bap (rice): seaweed rice
김 (gim) is dried seaweed, the same laver sold as snack sheets. 밥 (bap) means cooked rice and also a meal, as in bibimbap (mixed rice). So gimbap is literally seaweed-rice, named for its two main ingredients.
