💍 結婚 = tie (結) + marriage (婚) + 하다 to do: tie the marriage knot
결 (結) means to tie or bind, as in 결과 (result) and 연결 (connection). 혼 (婚) means marriage, as in 약혼 (engagement) and 이혼 (divorce). Add 하다 (to do) and the noun 결혼 becomes a verb: literally to do the knot-tying, just like English tie the knot.
