🔍 檢索 = inspect (檢) + rope/seek (索): check and seek = search
검 is the same 檢 as in 검사 (inspection) and 검토 (review). 색 is 索, originally a rope, extended to mean seek or trace along a line. Inspect + seek = search, as in 검색창 (search box) and 검색어 (search term).
