걸어오다

georeooda · TOPIK 1

to come on foot, walk here

🚶 걸어오다 = 걸어 (walking, from 걷다) + 오다 (to come): come walking

A compound of two verbs: 걷다 (to walk) becomes 걸어, since its ㄷ turns to ㄹ before a vowel, then 오다 (to come) is added. Swap 오다 for 가다 (to go) and you get 걸어가다, to walk away from the speaker.
