🏞️ A gang of streams joins up to make one river: gang = 강
강 comes from the hanja 江 (river), the same character as Chinese jiāng, as in the Yangtze, 长江. You already know it from Hangang (한강), the Han River in Seoul, and Gangnam (강남), literally south of the river.
