🎤 歌手 = song (가) + hand/person skilled at it (수)
가 is 歌 (song), as in 가사 (lyrics). 수 is 手 (hand), which also marks a person with a skill, as in 선수 (athlete) and 목수 (carpenter). So a 가수 is literally a song-hand: someone whose trade is singing.
