🧵 続 = 糸 thread + 売: a thread that keeps on running
As a suffix, ～続く goes on a verb stem to mean it keeps happening: 雨が降り続く = the rain keeps falling. The thread radical 糸 marks things that join and stretch on, as in 線 line and 結 tie.
