~兆
~ちょう · ~chou · JLPT N2 · noun
million
💴 兆 began as the cracks on oracle bones; it also means omen, as in 前兆
Japanese groups big numbers in steps of four zeros: 万 (10⁴), 億 (10⁸), 兆 (10¹²). So 一兆 is one trillion. Japan's national budget is about 100兆円, so you'll often see it in news about money.
