~だらけ

~だらけ · ~darake · JLPT N2 · noun

be full of ~

泥だらけ = mud + darake: covered all over in mud

だらけ attaches to a noun to mean that something is smothered in it, and it is usually something unwanted: 間違いだらけ (full of mistakes), 傷だらけ (covered in scratches). Hook: 'da-RAKE' — there's so much of it you'd need a rake.
