🪳 kakureru sounds like cockroach-ru, and cockroaches always hide
Say kaku-reru and you hear something close to cock-roach-ru. Cockroaches scurry off to hide the moment a light comes on. 隠 is the kanji for conceal, also found in 隠す (kakusu, to hide something).
