🍶 酌 = 酉 sake jar + 勺 ladle, so 酌む means ladling sake out to serve
The left part 酉 is the old sign for a wine jar, and 勺 is a ladle or dipper. Kumu is also the reading of 汲む, to draw water, so both verbs mean scooping a liquid up. With 酉 it is sake, served to someone else.
