🔗 連続 = link + continue: links joined one after another
連 (ren) means to link, as in 連絡 renraku, contact. 続 (zoku) is the same kanji as 続く tsuzuku, to continue. Link plus continue gives consecutive: things joined in an unbroken run, like 連続ドラマ, a serial drama.
