🐕 tsureru: you tsu-re-ly (surely) bring someone along with you
連 means link or connect (the movement radical 辶 plus 車, a cart): carts moving in a linked line. 連れる is to have someone linked to you as you go, as in 犬を連れて, taking the dog along. The same kanji gives 連絡, contact.
