送る

おくる · okuru · JLPT N4 · verb-godan

to send

📦✉️ Okuru: OK, you're sent — the parcel is OK'd and off it goes

The kanji 送 has the movement radical 辶 (road, going) under it, so something is travelling away from you. Same oku as in 見送る (to see someone off) and 送料 (shipping fee): whenever 送 appears, a thing or person is being sent on its way.

送 — 辶 (walk) + 关 (simplified from 灷, fire/torch)
Originally depicted hands holding a torch to escort someone on a journey, combined with the 'walk' radical 辶. The right side 关 is a simplification of an older form showing fire being carried. The core meaning evolved from 'escort/see off' to the broader sense of 'send' or 'give as a gift.'
