👁️ 視覚 = see + perceive: the sense that perceives by seeing
視 (shi) means to look or see, as in 視力 (eyesight). 覚 (kaku) means to sense or become aware, as in 感覚 (sensation). Seeing plus sensing gives the sense of sight. Bonus hook: shikaku also means square (四角), a shape you know by sight.
