🥢 hashi = chopsticks; same sound as hashi (bridge): a bridge from bowl to mouth
箸 has the bamboo radical ⺮ on top of 者, because chopsticks were made of bamboo. It sounds like 橋 (hashi, bridge), differing only in pitch: chopsticks bridge the gap between bowl and mouth.
