相 (mutual) + 変わらず (without changing) = still the same as ever
変わる (kawaru) means to change, and the old negative ending ず (zu) makes 変わらず mean without changing. 相 (ai) adds a sense of mutual or continuing, so the whole word means things carry on as they always have.
