🔥🪵 燃 has 火 (fire) on its left; moyasu = you make something burn
燃 = 火 fire + 然, which once meant burn by itself. The -yasu ending marks the transitive verb: you burn something. Compare 燃える moeru, it burns, and the same pairing in 冷やす hiyasu / 冷える hieru.
