無くなる

なくなる · nakunaru · JLPT N4 · verb-godan

to disappear

🧦 無 (nothing) + なる (become) = become nothing

無く is the adverb form of 無い (not there), and なる means to become. So 無くなる is literally to become not-there: a thing that was around goes missing or runs out. Sound hook: naku-naru, as in no-coo-now-ru, no more of it now.
